With a mass that lasted for more than three hours, attended by numerous believers, the highest body of the Albanian Orthodox Church, led by Archbishop Joan and the Holy Synod, commemorated the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Metropolitanate of Fier and held the enthronement ceremony of the Metropolitan, His Grace Monsignor Nikolla, who was elected by unanimous vote by the holy synod of the church.

A decade ago, it was decided that Fier, with its churches and large Orthodox population, would be organized into a Metropolis as a representative body within the organic structure of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

Today, after 10 years, the Metropolitanate of Fier inaugurates its new building, where its official activities take place.
