DP leader Sali Berisha has reacted after the end of the voting process, raising strong accusations against the Socialist Party for irregularities and election manipulation. In a statement to the media, Berisha said that the Democratic Party is waiting for the result, but will make a full assessment of the situation.

"We are waiting for the result, the DP will do its full assessment. When dozens of hectares of cannabis are planted for votes, when thousands of people are employed to buy votes, when illegal PS offices are set up near polling stations, this is no longer a fair competition," Berisha declared. He also mentioned the forgiveness of 150 million euros in fines for over 170 thousand citizens as another form of electoral influence.

Berisha stressed that “gangs have interfered in the elections” and cited alleged cases of vote buying for 100 euros. “This is not the opposition’s responsibility,” he said, hinting that the DP would take a stand after the full count is complete.

Sali Berisha in a statement to the media: We await the result, the DP will make all its assessment. If tens of hectares of cannabis are planted per vote, if tens of thousands of employees are hired per vote, if you saw the illegal offices of the SP near the polling centers, if you saw the forgiveness of 150 million euros in fines, of over 170 thousand citizens, you name the elections yourself. Let's count every vote. Gangs have interfered in the elections. If 100 euros are given per vote, this is not the responsibility of the opposition. There is no force in the world that prevents Albanians from voting freely.
