Happy February 11th, Tirana!
Today, February 11, we remember one of the most important dates in our national history: 106 years ago, in 1920, the Congress of Lushnja declared Tirana the Capital of Albania.
This day is a day of pride for the indigenous citizens of Tirana, for the families who have built its identity with hard work, culture, and citizenship, but also for all those who over the years have chosen Tirana as their home, making it today the metropolis of Albania.
As Prefect of Tirana District, I respectfully bow before the history of this city and commit myself to, together with institutions and citizens, moving our Tirana forward - modern, fair, welcoming and dignified, as the capital of Albania deserves.
