The Nepalese army has announced that it has removed 11 tons of debris, four dead bodies and a skeleton from Mount Everest and two other Himalayan peaks.
It took soldiers 55 days to retrieve debris and bodies from Mount Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse.
It is estimated that Everest is covered with more than fifty tons of debris and more than 200 bodies, the bbc reports.
In five clean-up actions since 2019, 119 tons of garbage, 14 corpses and several skeletons have been collected.
