The Court of Appeal upheld the 16-year prison sentence for the perpetrator of Martin Can's murder, Mario Përlleshi.
Martin Can's father's lawyer, Redi Ramaj, said that this decision brought some justice to the family of the minor who tragically lost his life at the door of the "Fan Noli" school.
"We are facing a decision that has brought a kind of justice to the family, as the event was serious, a minor lost his life. Looking at the Albanian legislation, we are satisfied with the court's decision on the sentence for the perpetrator of the criminal offense." There were many claims about the margin of punishment, over 16 years, but exceeding the limit of over 12 years for justice for minors, we think is positive for the court, considering the way it qualified the criminal offense," said Ramaj.
"A general investigation was conducted in the first instance court, no evidence was left out. The court concluded that the first instance decision was justified," he stressed.
