The incident that occurred in Saranda, where an explosive device was placed in a vehicle belonging to Mirash Gjikolla, is being clarified.
In an official announcement, the Saranda police explained that a 21-year-old man has been identified and detained, suspected of being an accomplice of two suspected perpetrators wanted for this incident.
During the operation to capture 21-year-old Ignasjo Kaso, police found and seized, as material evidence, a pistol firearm with combat ammunition in his apartment.

In-depth investigative actions continue under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to identify other persons involved in the attempted murder of a citizen by placing explosives in the vehicle he was driving, on 05.02.2026.
As a result of the investigations, a 21-year-old man was identified, arrested and detained, suspected of being an accomplice of the two alleged perpetrators, previously wanted for this incident.
During the operation to capture the 21-year-old, the Police found and seized, as material evidence, a pistol firearm with combat ammunition in his apartment.
As a result of in-depth and intensive investigations, conducted to identify and bring to criminal responsibility all citizens involved in the morning event of 05.02.2026, at the place called "Vrina Bridge Crossing", specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the services of the Saranda Police Commissariat, finalized the operation codenamed "Identification".
During the operation, citizen IK, 21 years old, resident of the village of Shëndëlli, was arrested and detained, after the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda issued a detention order for him, for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder", attempted, committed in collaboration, as well as "Unauthorized Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition".
The 21-year-old is accused of being an accomplice of wanted citizens GT and Xh. B., who on 05.02.2026 placed explosives in the vehicle driven by citizen M. Gj.
Further, during the operation, a search was conducted in the detainee's apartment, where a firearm (pistol) with ammunition, which was possessed without a permit, was found.
Controls continue to locate, capture and detain the two wanted citizens.
The procedural materials were referred to the Saranda Prosecutor's Office for further action.
