A strongly symbolic banner has attracted attention during the 23rd civic protest, where protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the overthrow of the country's political establishment. The banner shows two elderly people sharing their last bite of bread, a figure that symbolizes the sacrifice, solidarity and difficulties faced by Albanian citizens.
On the other side, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha are shown shaking hands over a map of Albania placed on the table, a message that, according to the organizers, implies political agreements made at the expense of the country's interests.
"The people share the morsel for the Homeland, Rama and Berisha share Albania for interest," was the message written on the banner, which became one of the most commented symbols of the protest.
Today's protest marks the 23rd day of civic mobilization, as participants continue to demand the removal of Prime Minister Rama and a change in the political system, emphasizing that their revolt is against the entire establishment that has run the country over the years.
