A spectacular race and a historic victory for Kimi Antonelli. The Italian Mercedes driver, starting from the penultimate place in the grid, made 26 overtakes and triumphed in the Italian Grand Prix.
Three laps to go, Antonelli overtook teammate George Russell at the Variante Ascari and took the lead, securing a remarkable victory in front of the Italian fans.
He was followed by Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Antonelli thus becomes the youngest driver to win at Monza and the first Italian to triumph at this track in 60 years, since Ludovico Scarfiotti.
For Ferrari, meanwhile, it was a race to forget. Charles Leclerc crashed on the second lap after a collision, but fortunately without serious injuries. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, finished sixth.
In the championship, Antonelli deepens his lead at the top with 267 points , 66 more than Russell, becoming increasingly the main favorite for the title. Meanwhile, in the constructors' championship, Mercedes dominates with 468 points , ahead of Ferrari with 346.
