Three Orikum Police officers have been arrested on charges of corruption and abuse of office, including the chief of the police station. Official police sources said they are Daniel Liskendaj, a Crime Inspector at the Orikum Police Station, Artur Jancaj, a Chief of the Orikum Police Station, and Afrim Ferra, a Policing Specialist in the Area at the Orikum Police Station.
The Directorate of Investigation has been informed that these police officers, in September of last year, in violation of the law and abusing the attributes granted to them by their position, have requested and received from a citizen the amount of 270,000 lek, in exchange for avoiding criminal liability.

The Police Supervision Agency (Investigation Directorate and Vlora - Gjirokastër Regional Directorate) has executed the decision of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, which has imposed the coercive personal security measure "House Arrest" provided for by Article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code, against police officers;
▶️ DL, with the duty of Crime Inspector at the Orikum Police Station;
▶️ AJ, acting Chief of the Orikum Police Station;
▶️ AF, with the duty of Area Policing Specialist at the Orikum Police Station;
suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" in collaboration and "Abuse of office", provided for by articles 259, 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.
The Directorate of Investigation has been informed that these police officers, in September of last year, in violation of the law and abusing the attributes granted to them by their position, have requested and received from a citizen the amount of 270,000 lek, in exchange for avoiding criminal liability.
After several months of investigation with special methods led by SPAK, it became possible to document with legal evidence the involvement of police officers in corrupt acts and abuse of office.
Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
