The Kukes Police have finalized the operation codenamed "Zabeli", in the context of the fight against the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics. As a result of this operation, a 63-year-old man and his 29-year-old son, suspected of cultivating narcotic plants, processing them and then selling them, have been declared wanted.
During the checks in the administrative unit Kalis, in the territory of the village of Geshtenjë, in the place called “Zabeli i Madh”, the Police services found 215 suspected narcotic plants of Cannabis sativa, which were destroyed by burning. Preliminary investigations suspect that the narcotic plants were cultivated by citizens FR, 63 years old, and MR, 29 years old, father and son, residents of the village of Geshtenjë. The Police continue their work to capture them.
Following the operation, the officers also searched the 63-year-old's apartment, where they found and seized about 3 kilograms of cannabis. In this case, the 63-year-old's wife, citizen VR, 52 years old, was also prosecuted at large for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics". The mayor of the village of Geshtenjë, citizen SR, was also prosecuted for the criminal offense "Abuse of office". The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kukës, for further investigative actions.
