An incident that could have ended with serious consequences was averted thanks to the quick intervention of the Border Police in Himara, as a rubber dinghy was moving uncontrollably and rapidly, with no people on board.

According to the official announcement, after receiving the alert, the Border Police services immediately intervened in the area of ​​"Cape Rigoni", opposite Llamani beach. Verifications revealed that the driver of the vessel, citizen EM, 35 years old, resident of Orikum, had fallen into the sea while the raft was moving.

The 35-year-old managed to get out into Llamani Bay, where he was found with a broken leg. He was transported to the hospital for medical attention and, according to authorities, is out of danger.

Meanwhile, the dinghy continued to move out of control, posing a serious risk to other vessels and holidaymakers in the area. An employee of the Maritime Police Unit managed to board and stop the vehicle, while it was then escorted to the Himara Border Checkpoint for further verification.

The immediate intervention of the Border Police services in Himara today avoided an event with serious consequences at sea.

After receiving a report that a rubber dinghy was moving uncontrollably and at high speed, with no people on board, Border Police services immediately intervened in the "Cape Rigoni" area, opposite Llamani beach.

The verifications showed that the driver of the vessel, citizen EM, 35 years old, resident of Orikum, had fallen into the sea while driving and had ended up in the bay of Llaman, with an injured leg. He was transported to the hospital for medical assistance and is out of danger for his life.

The dinghy, which posed a danger to other vessels and holidaymakers, was brought under control by the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police. An officer from the Maritime Police Unit was able to board the dinghy and stop it.

The vessel was then towed to Himara BCP for further verification.
