Austria has started its World Cup campaign with a bang, registering a 3-1 victory over Jordan. A success that the Austrian national team has lacked since the 1990 World Cup and which shows that Rangnik's team has other ambitions this season.

It was not an easy victory as Jordan put in a very good performance against the Austrians, even though the latter took the lead through Schmid in the first half of the game.
