A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Northern California, causing concern among residents in the area.

According to seismological authorities, the epicenter of the earthquake was located near Redwood Valley, at a depth of about 8.1 kilometers.

An aftershock measuring 2.5 magnitude was recorded after the main shock. Authorities are conducting inspections to assess the impact of the tremors on infrastructure and buildings. No serious damage has been reported so far, although the earthquake was felt over a wide area around the epicenter.

The event was recorded by 57 monitoring stations and analyzed by scientists to determine its seismic characteristics.

Authorities also stressed that there was no risk of a tsunami following the earthquake.
