Also, this citizen was wanted for the criminal offense of "Leaving the place of serving a sentence", after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana had set the security measure of "Arrest in prison" for this criminal offense.
Investigations suspect that this citizen was helping immigrants from third countries, who illegally entered Albania and then intended to cross into Montenegro, by transporting them by vehicle for a fee of 500 euros per person.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested for helping immigrants from third countries, in exchange for a payment of 500 euros, to cross the borders illegally.
The 29-year-old was caught red-handed, in the village of Vukpalaj, transporting 3 immigrants (from Sudan) in a vehicle, who were intending to cross the border with Montenegro.
Also, this citizen was wanted by Police Commissariat No. 7, Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Leaving the place of serving a sentence", after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana had set the security measure of "Arrest in prison" for this criminal offense.
The vehicle in which he was transporting the migrants and his mobile phone were seized.
The Border Police Services, based on information obtained operationally regarding a case of providing assistance to foreign citizens, in return for payment, for illegal border crossing, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Borders 5". As a result of this operation, the following citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto:
-O. Ç., 29 years old, resident of Fushë-Krujë, for the criminal offense of "Aid for illegal border crossing".
Investigations suspect that this citizen was helping immigrants from third countries, who illegally entered Albania and then intended to cross into Montenegro, by transporting them by vehicle for a fee of 500 euros per person.
When the police officers signaled him to stop, he attempted to leave, but after being chased for several minutes, he was stopped and escorted. Further checks revealed that this citizen was wanted by Police Station No. 7, Tirana, after the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana had sent the order for the execution of the criminal decision of this court, for the assignment of the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Leaving the place of serving the sentence".
Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity, as well as to identify and apprehend other citizens who may be involved.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action.
