A 59-year-old man has been arrested by Korça Police after he was caught driving around with a pistol in his vehicle.
According to preliminary information, Bilal Mullalli, a resident of the village of Zëmblak in Maliqi, was arrested during a police operation conducted by the Korça Local Police Directorate, at the intersection of the village of Dishnicë.
Sources indicate that Mullalli had long been suspected of carrying firearms without a permit and his arrest came after operational information provided by police structures.
During the search of the vehicle, officers found and seized a pistol firearm, which the 59-year-old was carrying.
According to the same sources, Mullalli appears to be a person with a previous criminal record. Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigations to clarify the full circumstances of the case, as well as to verify whether the weapon was used or was planned to be used in other criminal activities.
