The Tirana Court has ordered the security measure of arrest in prison for 61-year-old Bardhyl Fusha, who a few days ago robbed the FiBank branch in Tirana at gunpoint. In the session held behind closed doors, Fusha, an entrepreneur in the construction field, did not give any statement before the court during the granting of the security measure. He appeared in a serious condition for the action he had committed, while he left all defense to his lawyer, Mirash Ndoci.
According to the lawyer, his client acted under severe financial pressure, due to unpaid obligations to his employees in a considerable amount. According to him, the commercial entity that Fusha has managed results in serious economic difficulties and tax liabilities, which has further aggravated his personal and psychological situation.
After his arrest, Bardhyl Fusha stated to the police that the unpaid debts amounted to around 70 thousand euros.
During the hearing for determining the security measure, his defense lawyer asked the court to determine a more lenient measure than imprisonment, since according to him the incident was committed in a moment of strong emotional shock, and not with a stable criminal tendency. The defense also requested that Bardhyl Fusha undergo a psychological examination to assess his mental state at the time of the incident.
A few days ago, 61-year-old Fusha entered the FiBank branch armed and after shooting once on the floor, managed to take the amount of 8 million old lek from one of the cashiers and while trying to leave, he was arrested at the bank's entrance.
The financial problems, which he thought he would solve by robbing the bank, began for him in 2023, in construction, with taxes and with the salaries of workers. The latter were the most serious problem that he could not cope with and had been suffering from for a long time. On the day of the incident, it is learned that Fusha went to a bar near the bank, drank coffee and raki, and then went inside to rob.
