The journalist of News24, Osman Stafa, delivered a powerful speech at the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, lifting the hearts of the protesters, who received him with several standing ovations.
He spoke about corruption, depopulation, and problems with the healthcare system, calling on citizens to continue their resistance.
"73 days is the most beautiful World Cup. It is the biggest World Cup in our history, as we are fighting for our country against the corruption that has engulfed this country. We have always seen the eagle on this flag, but the real eagles are you. Even if a protester remains in this square, he must be honored. Do not be influenced by words. This square was filled more than ever in history. Continue to stay. In August there are no protests, but holidays. But what have these people done to Albania that Albanians have risen in the middle of summer to protest for their country? The cup is full and can no longer hold it. They have built a system that if you are honest you are crazy, stupid. You become a director, you become a minister and if you do not steal, they call you stupid. We want an Albania without corruption, without theft, that does not have depopulation, has education and healthcare. How sad it is that in our Albania, to see a brother, a father, a mother, who is at the end of his life life and there are no drugs against cancer. There are about 3 thousand people with cancer in Albania. These people do not have palliative care, they do not have compassion. They are the ones who say to mothers and women, to girls, when they need therapy: 'At the end of the year'. But does cancer wait?! They take their relatives abroad. Albanians will have to face hardship. Albanians face a pain. Facing the disease and having nothing to do," said the journalist.
