The Police Supervision Agency has arrested 11 people during the month of July, 8 of them police officers.
54 cases have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for investigation against Police officers, mainly for abuse of office, arbitrary actions and violations of traffic rules.
During July, AMP also handled 111 citizen complaints, conducted 3 inspections and initiated disciplinary investigations for 6 police officers.
The focus of the referrals has mainly been on cases of abuse of office, arbitrary actions, other intentional damage and intimidation, as well as violations of road traffic rules.
According to the AMP, the referred issues are divided into:
14 cases of abuse of office, against 15 subjects;
25 cases for arbitrary actions, other intentional damage, threats, etc.;
5 cases for violation of road traffic rules, against 5 subjects and 1 citizen.
111 complaints handled
During July, AMP administered 111 complaints. Of these, 15 were assessed as well-founded, 62 as unfounded, while in 32 cases the violations were not proven. In 2 cases, criminal files were opened.
Additionally, 160 administrative complaints were administered.
420 calls from citizens
A total of 420 calls were registered on the citizen communication line. Of these, 253 were within the scope of AMP's activity, 104 outside its competence, while in 63 cases citizens were provided with information.
Disciplinary proceedings
The AMP Disciplinary Committee has decided to initiate a disciplinary investigation for serious violations against 6 Police officers.
For one employee, it was decided not to initiate an investigation, as the violation has not been proven. Meanwhile, for 26 police officers and 2 Fire and Rescue Service employees, the procedures are still in the documentation review phase.
During July, AMP also conducted 3 inspections, one planned and two unplanned, with the aim of verifying the activities of the relevant structures.
The July balance sheet reflects the AMP's activity in terms of criminal investigations, disciplinary proceedings, handling complaints and communication with citizens.
