TIRANA – The famous actor Kadri Roshi is considered by many to be a legend of the Albanian stage and screen. Today, February 6, 2015, marks 8 years since the death of the Titan of the Albanian screen, ATSH reports.
Kadri Roshi's name is a colossus for Albanian film and theater, where he left prominent figures that will never be forgotten in film or theater roles such as "The Fox and the Grapes", "The Weight of Time" (1988), "The Man with the Ball" (1977), "Daisies on the Walls" (1976), and many other roles that have made Roshi's image and role on screen an immortal, almost mythological figure.
In 1995 he was also honored with the Career Award at the Artistic Film Festival, and in 1997 with the Grand Prize of Honor.
Kadri Roshi has been the "Honor of the Nation" since 1999. Roshi was born on January 4, 1924, in Mallakastër. He completed his higher education in Prague in 1951. He began his career as an actor at the People's Theatre at the age of 21, being one of the creators of this theatre.
From that time until today, he has played around 180 roles on stage and in cinema, which constitute a great artistic life, combining the difficulties of a life as an orphan, an apprentice, a cinema janitor, and even an original actor with the portrait of a noble man.
He has always had the actors of his generation by his side: Drita Pelingu, Violeta Manushi, Tinka Kurti, Reshat Arbana, Marika Kallamata, etc.
He is considered by many to be a legend of the Albanian stage and screen.
