Former Albanian ambassador to Kosovo Qemal Minxhozi, in a reaction to News24 commented on the 81-year prison sentence for the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Minxhozi stressed that the decision is unfair and politically motivated.
Qemal Minxhozi, former Albanian ambassador to Kosovo: It is an unjust sentence. It is a politically motivated decision. There is no basis for what was said at the Hague Tribunal. It is an excuse rather than reality. The decision is unrealistic. The court had said that there would be sentences for organ trafficking, but we did not see such charges.
The court mostly justified itself today. You can't muddy a war with a few incidents, it's unjustifiable. It's an injury that has affected the entire Albanian space. I think the Appeal will provide a more acceptable situation.
Those who have been sentenced today are people who had a patriotism for Albania, for Kosovo. They did not hide from justice. It is a great pain for all Albanians. With what has happened, dialogue is very far away. Belgrade's efforts to muddy the war in Kosovo are very strong.
