An 85-year-old Albanian citizen lost his life last evening at Bologna's Marconi Airport, after suffering a serious health problem during the landing phase of a Ryanair plane that departed from Tirana.
According to preliminary information, the elderly man was traveling with several family members and had previous serious health problems. During the disembarkation of the plane, he had sought medical assistance due to the deterioration of his condition.
Upon landing, the 85-year-old man is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest. The 118 emergency teams, who had been notified of the situation in advance, intervened immediately after the plane arrived, but despite their efforts, the elderly man could not be saved.
The State Police also arrived at the airport, which carried out the necessary procedural interventions.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight at Bologna's Marconi Airport. Italian authorities are continuing to verify the exact circumstances of the death.
