Iran remains almost completely cut off from the global internet, as the government-imposed online blackout enters its 11th week.

According to internet monitoring group NetBlocks, Iranian citizens continue to lack free access to the internet, remaining "cut off from the world."

"The censorship measure poses a tremendous barrier to knowledge, information, and communications for Iranians trying to go about their daily lives," NetBlocks stated.

It is reported that only a few limited websites have been accessible to the public, while the majority of Iran's 90 million residents have been left with only state-approved apps and services.

However, many citizens are afraid to use these platforms due to concerns about surveillance and control by authorities.

While the population faces digital isolation, senior Iranian officials and state media continue to freely use the global internet and social networks.

According to reports, state media and officials regularly post on Telegram and X, platforms that officially remain blocked for Iranian citizens.

Iran has been operating for about 70 days with very limited access to the international internet, with users mostly allowed to access an internal state-controlled network.
