A fire started due to negligence has ended with the arrest of one person, extensive material damage and the injury of a citizen in the village of Lumth, Lushnja.

According to official information from the police, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Lushnje Police Commissariat arrested citizen IK, 57 years old, a resident of this village, in flagrante delicto. This citizen is suspected of having lit a fire on his land yesterday to burn waste, but the flames have gotten out of control as a result of the rapid spread.

The fire has penetrated the land of his neighbor, citizen AA, causing significant material damage. The flames have completely destroyed an agricultural vehicle (a tractor), a trailer, as well as the food base that the owner had collected for his livestock.

In an attempt to save the property and extinguish the flames, the landowner himself, citizen AA, suffered burns to his body. He was urgently transported to the Lushnja Hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical treatment and is out of danger.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire".
