An anti-drug operation conducted by the Tepelena Police has led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of a 57-year-old man, who is suspected of cultivating narcotic plants in a deep and difficult-to-access area in the canyons of the village of Progonat.
The operation, codenamed "Rrjedha", was finalized after an investigation using proactive methods, conducted by the services of the Tepelena Police Commissariat in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of documenting the suspect's criminal activity. As a result of the police intervention, citizen IM, 57 years old, resident of Tepelena, was arrested at the scene. According to the Police, he had cultivated 175 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants, planted in pots and placed among the canyons of Progonat, in an attempt to hide them from controls.

Following an investigation using proactive methods, carried out by the services of the Tepelena Police Commissariat, in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office, to document with legal evidence the criminal activity of a citizen suspected of being involved in the cultivation of narcotic plants, the operation codenamed "Rrjedha" was finalized.
As a result of the pursuit and professional police intervention, the suspect, citizen IM, 57 years old, resident of Tepelena, was arrested in flagrante delicto, deep in the canyons in the village of Progonat, in the middle of which he had cultivated 175 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants in pots.
Anti-cannabis controls continue throughout the county.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action.
