French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Norway's decision to join France's 'nuclear umbrella'
A decision that his country has proposed to eight other European countries: Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark.
"This is a very important step and will be the driving force of a particularly ambitious cooperation," the French President said during a meeting with journalists at the Elysee Palace.
He also added that “Norway, a key geographical and strategic partner, will provide significant added value to this advanced barrier.”
