A tragic accident resulting in the death of a pedestrian was recorded this Wednesday afternoon on the Librazhd-Prrenjas national axis, at the place known as "Ura e Spatharit".
According to sources from the scene, citizen Heidije Bajrami, around 65 years old, was hit by a Toyota vehicle, driven by citizen Xheladin Omeri. The collision was severe, causing the elderly woman serious injuries.
The 65-year-old woman was urgently transported to the Librazhd Municipal Hospital, but unfortunately she arrived without any signs of life in the emergency room.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
"Road Traffic Specialists arrested citizen Xh. O., 38 years old, in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Violation of road traffic rules", resulting in death.
At around 19:45, on the "Librazhd-Prrenjas" road axis, the vehicle driven by the 38-year-old hit the pedestrian, citizen HB, around 67 years old.
As a result of the accident, citizen HB lost her life.
"The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the Blues' announcement states.
