The Court of First Instance in Shkodra has ordered “prison arrest” for citizen Prel Gjoni, owner of the “Xhedis” market. Gjoni came out to familiarize himself with the security measure after a few days ago he, along with two other people, attacked journalist Ervin Dushi.
Gjoni denied in court that he hit journalist Dushi, sticking to his version that he only pushed him.
Despite the claims of the supermarket owner, the Shkodra prosecution requested "prison arrest", a measure that was accepted by the first instance court, which remanded Prew Gjon in custody.
It all started after a video by journalist Ervin Dushi on Tik Tok a few days ago, in which he said that on the evening of that day he was denouncing the expired food of a supermarket chain.
At dinner, according to journalist Dushi, he received a call from the owner of the "Xhedis" market, Prel Gjoni, and that the latter had hit him along with two others, causing injuries to his face and head.
After this event, the police detained Prel Gjoni and arrested him, while the court today sentenced him to "prison arrest".
After the incident, before he was arrested, but also in court, Gjoni stated that journalist Dushi had blackmailed him to impose a fine on him, but this has not been proven and has been denied by the journalist in question, who was beaten by 3 people, among whom he was also beaten by Prel Gjoni, who was arrested by the Shkodra police for the criminal offense of "assault in the line of duty".
The prosecution is now continuing its investigations to fully unravel this case.
