72-year-old surgeon Nikolla Nunka has been arrested following sexual harassment allegations filed by a 21-year-old woman, who claims he kissed her and committed other inappropriate acts.

Regarding the issue, lawyer Drita Avdyli commented in a direct link on the show "News24 Weekend" with Megi Latif, explaining the legal aspects of the case.

According to her, if the allegations are not proven in court and prove to be unfounded, the doctor can also seek compensation for damage to his reputation and moral damages, by filing a civil lawsuit.

If the accusation is proven in court, according to her, a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison is foreseen, while in case of repetition, the sentence can go up to 7 years, depending on the evidence and circumstances of the case.

"If the doctor wins the trial, and the patient's accusations may be just allegations that may have come from a previous dispute because they are located within the same city, mediation may be pursued. The doctor may also seek financial and moral damages for damage to reputation. If he has truly committed the crime, the doctor is sentenced to 3-5 years and if it is a repeated crime, 5-7 years, always if there is evidence," she said.
