The Kruja branch of the Democratic Party held elections today for the new leader of the Democrats in Kruja and Fushë Kruja, which have been merged into a single branch, according to the statute.
A few minutes ago, the vote counting process in the DP Branch, Kruja, was completed, with the winner being the candidate, Aulon Kalaja, who was competing with Myftar Ismailaja.
According to the official minutes, a total of 717 democrats from Kruja, Fushë Kruja, Thumana, Burizana, Cudhis, Niklë and Bubqi participated.
Aulon Kalaja has secured 622 votes, thus becoming the new Chairman of the DP, Krujë Branch.
Immediately after the end of the process, Aulon Kalaja, in his first speech after the victory, emphasized that the result was not simply a matter of numbers, but a mandate for “the unification of democratic hearts.” His main message was a clear call for unity within the party.

I am aware that we have a lot of work ahead of us and the first goal is to unite the opposition in one direction, that of the victory of the Democratic Party. I will be nothing more than one of you.
Like any process, this one had its own fears, questions, hesitations, conjectures and contradictions. Completely normal for a right-wing conservative party like ours. The opposite would be strange. Within our political force there are no enemies, no opponents, but rivals. And rivalry always brings progress. Therefore, I have a special thanks to the other contestant Myftar Ismalaja, who showed citizenship and prudence.
Today and tomorrow I extend my hand to everyone who seeks to give of themselves and I tell you that none of your contributions will be lost, but will be counted one by one. Just as it is necessary that our structures must be refreshed, to open up, to invite right-wing families, to call on the founders, to bring in the young, but to keep the old, the persecuted who are the fiber of the right, because our political force has one of the inalienable values, the preservation of tradition. Therefore, "year 0" does not start with me, but I am the next mayor, who will have the honor of leading one of the most wonderful areas of Albania. Let us also extend our hand to the uninterested, the indifferent and the disappointed, calling on them to join us in this effort for change.
Our structures will be enriched even more. Sections, group sections, leadership, secretariats, departments, women's forum, youth forum and every other group that functions in our political family.
I want to promise you one thing, that I will never betray you.
We believe in God, family, nation, property, so let's invite all those who have something to give to this mission to join us.
Let's return the glory to Kruja.
