Iran's military has warned it will target ports in the United Arab Emirates in response to US military strikes on Kharg Island, the area where most of Iran's oil exports take place.
The Iranian military claimed that the United States had launched missiles from hidden positions in ports and shelters inside cities in the United Arab Emirates.
The United Arab Emirates, which has been hit hard by Iran's retaliation, stressed that its defense remains unchanged.
After avoiding targeting the Iranian island during the first two weeks of the war, the US on Friday struck military facilities in Kharg.
The small island of Kharg is essential to Iran's economy, as it processes 90% of the country's crude oil exports.
However, US officials said the US did not strike targets related to oil trade, but Trump has threatened to strike them too if Iran continues to block ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran also urged people to stay away from ports, signaling an escalation of attacks towards its Gulf Arab neighbor.
