Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić addressed the citizens after the end of the National Security Council session and stated that they had discussed two items on the agenda: the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

The Council decided that Serbia would not recognize the decision against the president of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, which bans him from engaging in politics for six years and requires him to serve one year in prison.

"The National Security Council considers that acts such as the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to confirm the decision against Dodik undermine the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska, established by the Dayton Peace Agreement, and endanger stability, trust in institutions, as well as the democratic character of internal political relations. Serbia, as a signatory to the guarantees of the Dayton Agreement, will continue to insist on its full respect and will reject any practice of imposing decisions outside international law," said the Serbian president.

Vučić stated that the decision banning Dodik from engaging in politics for six years has nullified the will of the citizens of Republika Srpska, who elected Dodik as their legitimate representative.

We emphasize that the leader of the Serbs in Bosnia declared that he will not resign from political positions and that he will not respect the court's decision.
