Argentina manages to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Scaloni's team defeated Egypt 3-2, in a challenge where an upset was needed to avoid a sensational elimination. Journalist Ervin Sina said at the American World Cup that after Egypt's two goals, he did not expect an upset.

"When it went 0-2 I had no expectations. Then it became tense as a team. I'm a Messi fan and not an Argentina fan. We don't have that old madness anymore, Messi makes you his own.

"I didn't believe in the reversal when Egypt scored two goals. This national team, if it generates even a small element of reversal, it succeeds. We can't expect Messi to cover, like he used to do, the entire perimeter of the attack."
