The Chairman of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, has commented on the reactions online after the appearance of several artists in the courtroom in support of Mayor Erion Veliaj.

According to Shehaj, a society that accepts and allows corruption cannot escape poverty, misery, and cannot build a future.

The head of Mundësia underlines that performances such as that of Veliaj and the artists who kiss the hands of the head of the Tirana Municipality, who is accused of corruption, are a method of officials and those in power who want to normalize the theft of Albanian citizens through the power they are given.

"A question: Can a society that accepts corruption have a future? Can a society that allows and accepts corruption emerge from misery and poverty? I think not, but this is the goal of politicians accused of corruption in Albania," says Shehaj.

Agron Shehaj emphasizes that accused officials use the media to attack prosecutors or courts.

Shehaj states that Albanian citizens want an end to impunity, while calling on them to react and not accept corruption.

"Some media outlets have criticized me regarding my stance on the appearance of two or more actors kissing Erion Veliaj's hands despite him being accused of corruption.
Now, one thing should be clear: a society that does not condemn corruption has no future.
If we take the ranking of the most corrupt countries on one hand and the ranking of the poorest countries in Europe on the other, we will discover that where there is corruption, there is poverty. There is no country in the world or in Europe where, despite corruption, there is a high standard of living.
And practically, what do we mean by this?
There can be no future in Albania if we do not fight corruption. There can be no future if we accept corruption.
In fact, what happened to Erion Veliaj is what happened to almost all those accused of corruption. Almost every one of them uses their supporters to justify themselves and to send a clear message: we must accept them as they are, despite the ink that has come off them.
On the other hand, almost every one of them uses the media they have influence over to attack prosecutors, to attack judges.
What we need to do is exactly what I did: we need to react. We cannot accept corruption.
"Even though the majority of Albanian citizens are against corruption and want those accused of corruption to be brought to justice," says Shehaj.
