The leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements regarding the changes to the law on protected areas, saying that the head of government is trying to justify himself. According to Shehaj, Rama's long post on social media shows that he has begun to worry about facing justice.

"Edi Rama has made a bunch of excuses for his responsibilities in changing the law on protected areas. But his troubles with justice have just begun. He will not only have to account for this law, but also for the strategic investment law, the mountains package and a series of other decisions that have favored certain interests to the detriment of the public interest," said Shehaj.

He emphasized that in addition to legal responsibility, Albanian citizens demand that Rama also bear political responsibility for the way he has governed the country over the last 13 years.

"Albanian citizens want Edi Rama to be held politically responsible for everything he has done in these 13 years as prime minister. He must resign and go and give an account," declared Shehaj.

The leader of Mundësia called on citizens to continue protests and public pressure for the removal of the government, considering this as the way to free Albania from corruption, organized crime and their ties to political power.

"We must continue to stand firm, protest and demand the liberation of Albania from corruption, from organized crime and from this government connected to them. This is what the citizens are demanding and this will happen very soon," Shehaj concluded.
