The situation with the fires on Mount Tërbun in Puka has reached critical proportions, completely out of control. The flames, aided by strong winds, have spread over a distance of more than 12 kilometers, consuming entire areas of tall pine forests.

The fire is rapidly advancing towards the Pezhvë neighborhood in the city of Puka, directly endangering residential areas. Due to the rugged mountainous terrain, the intervention of firefighting vehicles in the hearth is completely impossible. Army personnel and firefighters are working with emergency vehicles only on one side of the hearth, without the possibility of controlling the entire perimeter of the flames.

Faced with this emergency, local authorities have been making official appeals to the central government since the morning hours for urgent air intervention by helicopters, as the only way to prevent the disaster. Meanwhile, preliminary investigations raise strong suspicions that the fire is the result of a deliberate act, but so far the police have not identified or arrested any person as the perpetrator of this arson.
