Analyst and former DP MP Edvin Kulluri has harshly criticized the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing it as a model of a prime ministerial republic where concentrated power endangers individual freedom and democratic institutions. According to Kulluri, “the greatest enemy of individual freedom is a large state”, where the more power an individual or institution has, the greater the risk of corruption and abuse. He pointed out that in Albania today the prime minister controls the government, the parliament and even tries to seize the justice system.

Referring to specific cases, Kulluri spoke in News24 on the issues of Balluk and Veliaj: "Let's take the example of Veliaj's dismissal, which was decided at the meeting of the SP offices and not at the Municipal Council. In the civilized world, the institution leads, not the individual, but here the process is deformed."

He also criticized the government's double standard: "They want justice not to touch them, but businesses or individuals to be hit. Like the case of the fine of the Hysenbelliu Group, unfairly. Today Albania is in a constitutional and institutional crisis."

Kulluri emphasized that the capture of the state by both camps, both the majority and the opposition, has put justice at a disadvantage: "The match between justice and governance is 1-0 with the latter. This government has shown justice its place."

He also ironized the current situation: "Albania has been grabbed by the 'hair' by both camps. Rama, the supreme leader! Double standard with Balluk!", indicating, according to him, the capture of the country by powerful individuals.

The mill: The greatest enemy of individual freedom is a large state. The main problem of large democracies is how to limit power. This creates opportunities for corruption. Every person, the more power he has, he abuses it. We must go to the root and not deal with the branches. These things have also been done in politics, as is the prime ministerial republic today. Today the prime minister leads the government, the parliament and tries to seize justice.

Let's take as an example the dismissal of Veliaj, who was dismissed at the meeting of the SP offices and not at the Municipal Council. Or in the case of Ajmetaj, all the decisions were unanimous. How can a man not oppose it? In the civilized world, the institution leads, not the individual. This is where the process is distorted. The DP MPs, when the "Partizani" issue was opened, came out with T-shirts: "Release the leader of the DP". These SP members also have the same behavior. They want justice not to touch them, but businesses or individuals to be hit. As was the case of the fine of Hysenbelliu Group, unfairly, as we have said.

Today Albania is in a constitutional and institutional crisis. They lied to us the first time about Balliuk and said when we should speak to the court. Then they left us on the sidelines because they said that we would express ourselves as the Court would express itself. The same man who let them go yesterday, today turned his back and said: "This is how I like it." We also have a DP leader who does as he pleases. They have Albania by the hair and are not letting it move forward. Both camps, both the majority and the opposition. The match between justice and governance is 1-0 with the latter. This government has shown justice its place.
