Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted through a video published on social networks regarding the increase in the cost of living and prices in Albania, accusing the government of having built an economic system that favors the minority and burdens citizens.

In her message, Tabaku said that throughout the week she has met with citizens, pensioners, middle-class families and businesses, while the main concern she has heard everywhere has been the increase in prices and the difficulty in making ends meet.

According to her, Albania is becoming more expensive and more unlivable for most citizens every day.

"Every door I knocked on this week, every business, every retiree, and every middle-class family had only one concern: the high cost of living and unaffordable prices," Tabaku says in the video.

The DP MP emphasized that in the last 10 years, prices in Albania have increased by 51.1%, while incomes, according to her, have increased minimally, turning Albania into one of the most expensive and unaffordable countries in the region.

Tabaku linked this situation to what he described as an economic model captured by narrow interests, monopolies, and a lack of competition.

She accused the majority of favoring a minority connected to power through high taxes, special laws, and fiscal policies, while burdening ordinary citizens and businesses.

"Today we have an economic system that in every law passed by parliament, it puts its hands in the pockets of citizens. In every decision, it thinks about the minority and not the majority," declared Tabaku.

At the end of her message, the Democratic MP stated that changing this economic system remains her political objective, emphasizing that she will continue contacts with citizens on the ground.

"We need to change this system and I won't get tired of knocking on every door every day until we achieve it," Tabaku concludes in her reaction.
