An activist who took the floor during the protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office delivered a strong-toned speech, raising concerns about immigration, demographic decline, and the departure of young people from the country.
He said that four minutes is enough to give birth to a child or to prepare a suitcase for emigration, while asking if Albanians will prepare the country's "death certificate."
"I will speak for four minutes. In four minutes a mother has given birth to a baby, it is also enough for a person to pack their suitcase. Will we prepare Albania's death certificate? We have signed Albania's death certificate, because thousands leave every day," he said.
The activist stated that over the last year, around 50 citizens have left, comparing this figure to the disappearance from the map of some of the country's largest cities.
"We have removed 50 people from Albania. It's like taking Vlora, Durrës, Saranda and Shkodra off the map, not from a natural disaster," he said.
In his speech, he emphasized that every day dozens of couples get married, new businesses are opened and students graduate, but according to him, young people are forced to build their lives outside of Albania.
"Every day 44 couples decide to get married, 43 individuals open businesses despite gangs and bribery, while 77 students graduate and we send them to build the future of England, Germany or the USA. Why not build the future in Albania?", he said.
At the end of the speech, the activist called on citizens to join the protest and continue the mobilization.
"We have been coming here for 51 days to show that we are the strongest Marathoners Albania has ever seen. We are not communists, we are not Nazis, but we are Albanians," he concluded.
