From Grykshi i Madh in Peqin to Porcari in Italy, the pain is shared for the loss of 4 lives in one family, who were reportedly poisoned by carbon monoxide in their home.
A tragedy that unites two communities, two countries, and leaves behind a bitter message about the sacrifices of immigration and the innocent lives lost too soon.
Journalist Fatmir Popja traveled today to the village of Grykshi i Madh, where grief has gripped the Kola family, while their grieving relatives and neighbors remember the victims. The cousin of Arti Kola, the head of the family who lost his life, says that the last time they met was for New Year's.
"We are shocked. We are sorry, we have our man. We are touched. We do not know what happened. We did not imagine that this would happen. I have a first cousin who is the victim. We are sorry! It was for New Year's for the last time in Albania. We met. This was the last time. We had no more contact!", he said.
