The European Democrats have made another reaction regarding the citizen protests that have been ongoing for over 50 days in Tirana, where they are demanding not only the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, but also the departure of the political class.
In a reaction, the European Democrats say that Edi Rama and Sali Berisha should leave and that the country deserves new leadership, with responsible institutions and a truly European future.
“On the fiftieth day of protests in Tirana, a banner sums up the crisis: “Albania is not a private resort.” Edi Rama’s government has backed a project that threatens protected land, while undermining transparency and trust in the rule of law. Sali Berisha’s opposition has failed to offer a credible democratic renewal. Albania deserves new leadership, accountable institutions and a truly European future. Both must go,” the reaction reads.
