The protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office continues this evening, on the 59th day of citizen rallies demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

During her speech to the protesters, Mother Liza, the elderly woman who became a symbol of resistance on May 5th almost 5 years ago, called for the government to resign, criticizing the prime minister and the political class.

The elderly woman said that today she is wandering the streets and that nothing has been done for her apartment yet. She also criticized the role of the police during the protests, demanding that the officers not confront the citizens. Speaking about the economic difficulties, she said that her monthly income is not enough for basic expenses. Finally, the protester also called on internationals to react to the situation in Albania, asking for support for the citizens.

"Edi Rama, together with his government, if they are men, should come out here today before the people and resign. They are not men, but rats that live in the canals. I thought in the Assembly that war had broken out, that the Serbs had come. There is no state here. A man who does not work for his own house is not a man. They dragged me away when they demolished my house, they did not even let me take my clothes. These are not MPs! The police should not be against the people. The police should take off their hats and join the people. I only get 150 thousand lek, what should I pay first, electricity or water?! These people have chosen what they wanted themselves. I have been roaming door to door for 4 years and my house is in front of me. No one has stepped in. I call on America and the USA to step in for the Albanians," she said.
