An explosion with explosives was recorded at around 02:00 after midnight in the city of Kruja. The target of the attack was an optical shop owned by retired ophthalmologist Petrit Rroshi. The explosion caused significant material damage to the shop premises, as well as to several surrounding homes and businesses. The Local Health Care Service Unit, which is located next to the optician where the explosives were placed, also suffered damage.

Previously, it was suspected that the attack could be a message to the company "Max Optika", as just three days ago a similar event was recorded in Fier, where another store of the same company was attacked with explosives.

Police have seized security camera footage from the surrounding area. Preliminary footage suggests that a masked person approached on foot, placed the explosives and then fled on foot. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrator, as well as to fully elucidate the circumstances and motives of the attack.
