Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Lisander Hoxha, has stated that tensions and criticism are emerging within the Socialist Party, which, according to him, indicate a deep political and institutional crisis.

Guest on the show Studio24 - IN News24, Hoxha focused on the recent debates related to critical positions within the Socialist Party, including those of former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali.

According to him, the current situation requires international intervention and attention, as well as a clear strategy for the country's exit from the political crisis.

"We need the international factor, we need a concrete strategy to get the country out of the crisis," said Hoxha, adding that according to him, representative institutions have lost their accountability function and parliamentary debate has weakened.

He also raised a political question that connected him to the debate in the SP: "Are you with the party or Albania?", describing this as an existential dilemma within the SP.

Hoxha emphasized that even within the socialist parliamentary group there may be individuals who, according to him, place the interest of European integration above the political positions of the current leadership.

According to him, some MPs may distance themselves from the current line if they place the country's interest and the European Union integration process above domestic political factors.
