More details have emerged from the arrest of Ervin Mata, who was arrested in Brazil. For more than two years, Interpol Tirana had provided information that Mata was hiding in Brazil, where he was arrested with the aim of extradition to our country.

The 39-year-old lived between Brazil and Paraguay. When he was arrested, Mata handed over to local police forged Paraguayan documents with a UK birth certificate, a means of identification that expired in 2030.

Mata also possessed other suspected forged documents, such as a Bulgarian identity card and passport.

According to sources, during the arrest in the suburbs of São Paulo, he was caught with several other citizens, part of the drug trafficking ring.

Mata has been internationally wanted by SPAK since 2023 for involvement in the trafficking of large quantities of cocaine and leading a structured criminal group that operated in several countries.

According to sources for journalist Jensila Kodra, the Bulgarian passport had expired in 2024, while the Bulgarian identity card was valid until 2029, also forged.
