The star of the evening was undoubtedly 16-year-old Max Dowman, who scored twice in an impressive performance. The Arsenal talent opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a spectacular individual move, and scored his second goal in the second half.
Noni Madueke and Mikel Merino completed Arsenal's victory, while Ipswich responded with Anis Mehmeti and Chuba Akpom. However, the home side's two goals were not enough to change the outcome of the match. Arsenal thus recorded another victory and look forward to learning their fourth round opponent.
In another Carabao Cup clash, Liverpool secured qualification after a 3-1 victory over Tottenham, plunging De Zerbit's Londoners further into crisis.
Despite a significantly changed line-up, Liverpool controlled the game and took a first-half lead through Alexis Mac Allister. After the break, Cody Gakpo doubled the lead, while Tottenham responded through Conor Gallagher, temporarily reopening the match.
But in extra time, Dominik Szoboszlai sealed Liverpool's victory with a spectacular long-range strike. Tottenham exit the Carabao Cup after another negative result, while Liverpool continue their journey towards the trophy.
