A number of websites, including media, institutions, online platforms and applications, around the world, were blocked this Tuesday, due to problems affecting the leading internet infrastructure company, Cloudflare.

The BBC writes that thousands of users reported problems with the sites as well as other services.

Cloudflare said in a statement that it had seen "an unusual increase in traffic on one of Cloudflare's services starting at 11:20 a.m.," which had caused errors in traffic passing through its network.

"We still do not know the cause of the unusual traffic increase," the company said, adding that we are all committed to ensuring that all traffic is served.
without difficulty.

Later, as many internet services began to return to normal, the company said it had "implemented a change which has restored control panel services."

On its homepage, X was displaying a message to some users saying that there was a problem with its internal server, as a result of an “error” originating from Cloudflare.

The ChatGPT website was also displaying an error message telling some users: "please unblock cloudflare.com to continue."

The problems with Cloudflare also affected the media in Albania, the region, and Europe.
