Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has accepted US President Donald Trump's invitation to join the Peace Council that will deal with issues related to the management of the Gaza Strip.
The BNA agency published a statement from the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the matter.
"The decision of the Kingdom of Bahrain stems from the desire to achieve the full implementation of the 20-point peace plan for the Gaza Strip proposed by President Donald Trump. Because it is necessary to take into account the importance of this plan for protecting the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people," the document states.
It was said that Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa highly appreciates the American leader's efforts to ensure peace in the region and around the world.
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced its membership in the Peace Council. Qatari authorities also received an invitation to join the organization.
