The Chairman of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET), David McAllister, appeared at a press conference in Tirana, where he was also asked about the case of Belinda Balluku, suspended from her post as Deputy Prime Minister and for whom SPAK has requested her arrest.

McAllister said that the case was part of the discussions during the visit and meetings held in Albania, but stressed that he is not in a position to comment on an individual case.

"This issue has played a role during our visit and meetings in Albania. I am not in a position to comment on an individual case. I am coming from Brussels and I am aware of the case, but I will not get involved in its legal issues," he stated.

However, McAllister emphasized that beyond the legal aspect, there is also a dimension of political responsibility.

"This is also a question of political responsibility and must be resolved within the Albanian government," said the AFET chairman.
