In that long speech by Prime Minister Edi Rama, only two words constituted the essence: “The request is rejected,” he said, refusing the Special Prosecution Office to grant authorization for the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku. With this personal decision, Rama showed us two great risks that he has been applying for some time, but are now becoming more frequent, to turn an abnormal issue for a democratic country into “the normality of his government.”

Justice, which should not be called new or old, is in danger of functioning. For us, this is not something unexpected, but we are faced with a serious fact that requires an answer. On one side is the part of the international factor that is clearly concerned and is monitoring not only the issue in question, but the continuation of power in an open attack on justice. The integration of the country is at risk. The prime minister knows this better than anyone else, who openly challenges them and seems to be saying: they don't want Berlin and Brussels, big deal, they want Roskovec and Pustec...

Isolated everywhere, he is making his last efforts to hold on to power by any means necessary. The rejection of the Special Prosecution's request for the arrest of Balluku should not be seen as a defense for his closest associate in the corruption affairs of the century, but rather as a defense of himself and the system he has built in the inseparable cohabitation of crime-power-oligarchy.

The moment Rama shows strength, he is actually in his weakest days. The opposition must understand this well, so it is forced to find ways to oppose him, with every means and aggressiveness within the limits of "democratic means". The personal decisions of an individual and his government, or of 83 people who serve as puppets, have put the future of the country at risk. In such conditions, the opposition must react strongly to evil. Every extreme act, with revolt, strike, protest and confrontation with the regime, must be discussed.

Parliament cannot behave as normal this Thursday. At stake is not only the protection of an “independent power on paper” such as justice, but also the protection of the citizen's interest. Justice has its great sins in relation to the government. In its seventh year of operation, the Special Prosecution Office has not been able to justify the purpose for which it was created: the fight against corruption at high levels of government. Each of its blows has been a “controlled explosion”, the button of which was in the hands of the prime minister. Justice itself is suffering the consequences that it created itself, but this should not be a reason to leave it alone in the hands of the man who is ready to melt it.

The specific case is the “Balluku case”. The opposition cannot “complex” that it is defending one of the branches of justice (SPAK) that has been “dependent” on one of the “branches” of the government, but it is defending the public interest. The DP as a parliamentary group, or its leaders and membership, has the example to give that no matter how unequal and harsh the battle with the government may be, they are ready to take any risk and consequence. The public interest is being violated. At this point, the opposition has every moral right to surround the Parliament since it is not just about the immunity of an individual, but the governing mentality that is violating the life, freedom, property and future of every citizen.
