Pedagogue and activist Ervin Goci, invited to the studio of the show "This Week" in News24, commented on the political situation in the country, focusing on SPAK's accusations against Belinda Balluku, suspended from her post as Deputy Prime Minister, for whom the Special Prosecution has requested her arrest.
Goci was critical of the functioning of Parliament, emphasizing that the institution, according to him, has suffered deep degradation.
"Parliament has completely degraded as an institution, no one will know about it. They come out like knights in the Wild West and don't ask for anything," he declared.
Speaking about the Balluk case, Goci said that, in his opinion, the agenda of the public debate has been distorted. He claimed that the case is being treated by the majority as a constitutional issue, while in essence it is about serious accusations related to the misuse of funds.
"In the case of Balluk, the agenda has been distorted. She was caught in the act of theft, while in the SP it is treated as if it were a constitutional issue. Rama will fire her in a second. She is the most protected person today," said Goci.
He emphasized that the arrest request is not a decision of the prosecutor, but it is up to the court to make that decision, underlining the principle of separation of powers.
"The prosecutor did not decide the arrest, the court decided it. The prosecutor does his duty, he protects the state's money and the state. The prosecutor is the law. When he sees that something is being stolen, he says 'stop'. He took Balluk's signature, he did nothing else," he said.
